Mitie has renewed its contract with Eurostar, the high speed passenger rail service linking the UK and mainland Europe, extending its relationship for another three years. The contract will see Mitie provide security services at St Pancras International Station in London, as well as the Eurostar Engineering Centre in Temple Mills, and has the option for an additional two years. Mitie, which has provided services to Eurostar for over 14 years, was awarded the contract following a competitive retender process.
Mitie will continue to provide a wide range of security and customer services for Eurostar as part of the contract. This includes passenger security screening, train searches, hosting e-gates, CCTV monitoring at the Temple Mills site, and overseeing access to restricted zones across both sites. With this contract renewal, Mitie will be bringing its industry leading technology and intelligence capabilities to Eurostar. This includes dedicated transport sector security analysis and updates, via its Intelligence Security Operations Centre (ISOC) in Northampton.
With more than half of colleagues having worked on the contract for over 15 years, Mitie’s team of skilled Security Officers are experienced in supporting the smooth running of Eurostar’s services, creating a positive and safe experience for millions of passengers travelling on its trains each year.
Jason Towse, Managing Director, Business Services, Mitie, said:
“Having provided services to Eurostar for over 14 years, we’re delighted to be continuing our strong relationship, as we continue to deliver security services at St Pancras and Temple Mills. We look forward to continuing to work together over the coming years to ensure the millions of passengers travelling on the Eurostar annually enjoy safe and pleasant journeys.”
