Mitie Security acquires Global Aware International Group
- Mitie Security has bought Global Aware International Group, a small security technology provider
- GAIG’s market leading technology will support Mitie’s ambition to be the leading technology-led and intelligence-led security business in the UK
Mitie Security has today announced that it has acquired Global Aware International Group (GAIG), a leading provider of niche intelligent software and security solutions. This move further accelerates the growth of Mitie’s premium technology-enabled and intelligence-led security solutions and bolsters its credentials in providing truly connected security services.
GAIG’s market-leading solutions are designed to support the management of building security across client estates and are now the products of choice in some of the world’s most iconic high-rise commercial buildings. Mitie Security already has a long-standing partnership with GAIG, which currently provides bespoke technology solutions to a number of Mitie’s major retail security clients.
The cloud-based technology solutions designed by GAIG, allow clients to manage, communicate and audit security activity across their estates online, via desktops or hand-held devices. This includes everything from managing routine tasks to dynamically creating tasks based on incidents or situation changes, and also enables the assignment of tasks to individual users ensuring actions are completed within defined timescales or escalated to a supervisor where appropriate.
The technology can also be used to guide companies through the management of major incidents, providing business continuity support without having to refer to operational procedures when time is critical. Information is automatically captured and shared with appropriate parties securely.
The platform collates data from a number of sources including client access control systems, as well as external sources such as police crime data, to create tailored dashboards which can be bespoke to individual issuers. This dynamic approach provides real-time actionable insights, ensuring businesses have access to the latest information on their estates and security operations, and allows for trend analysis over longer periods.
GAIG also provides real-time reporting for travellers or lone workers to mitigate risks during critical events from medical or fire emergencies, to terrorist threats and pandemic issues.
This technology-enabled approach to manned guarding ensures security models continue to evolve and adapt with client needs. From small businesses to large blue-chip corporates, GAIG’s clients cross a range of sectors including media, financial services, high security environments such as data centres and other Critical National Infrastructure facilities.
GAIG’s Founder and CEO, David Evans will join Mitie Security and take a seat on its Senior Leadership Team, bringing valuable expertise in security technology development.
Jason Towse, Managing Director, Mitie Security, said:
“Mitie Security continues to gather momentum. Just as security needs continue to evolve, we need to remain one step ahead. Adding GAIG to the Mitie portfolio is just the next evolution in providing our customers the best tech-enabled and intelligence-led security services on the market.”
David Evans, CEO, Global Aware Intelligence Group, said:
“The Global team is excited that this acquisition will further enhance our joint technical solution to clients across the Mitie portfolio.”
