As the UK is once again under stricter measures to control the spread of coronavirus, many of our clients are considering how to balance employee safety with keeping their workplaces open and their businesses running
effectively.

During the 2020 pandemic, Mitie has been a key supplier to the government, supporting the roll out of over 100 public testing sites, ranging from simple 4 booth walk-in sites to huge 12 lane drive-through testing centres. We’re now utilising our expertise to offer our private sector clients the ability to test staff at their own sites, making the whole process of getting back to work as quick and efficient as possible.

Our highly experienced team can support you with a fully managed on-site testing solution, from initial set up of the facilities to day-to-day running of the service. We can deliver both internal testing facilities, with full fit-outs within existing buildings, as well as external walk-in and drive-through facilities. Following the same stringent NHS Test and Trace guidelines and requirements as government sites, we also follow all CDM regulations and carry out site specific risk assessments, with documented procedures provided alongside the installation of the facilities.

We also provide onsite teams to carry out all aspects of the testing process itself, including clinical waste management, site and boundary security, winter gritting, cleaning services and ongoing maintenance and repairs. As well as rapid lateral flow testing delivered directly onsite, we have also partnered with a number of laboratories to deliver standard PCR testing, with results available within 24 hours. Samples taken onsite are rapidly couriered to the labs, with results provided by text message.

Coronavirus testing: Mitie’s experience

Since August 2020, Mitie have built over 100 testing sites as part of the government testing programme, ranging from small walk-in sites to 64 bay internal facilities and 12 lane drive through ‘mega’ testing centres. We’ve been utilising our self-delivery capabilities to provide a complete
coronavirus testing solution, from initial build and fit out, to the running of day-to-day operations.
